The building

The Mansfield went up in 1902 to designs by Renwick, Aspinwall & Owen: 12 storeys of rusticated limestone at the base, red brick above, and a copper mansard roof laid in slate. Oriel windows step out from the third floor to the eighth, which is why the rooms on those floors take light from three sides.
New York City designated the building a landmark in 2012. The lobby still has its coffered ceiling and the ground-floor library its oval skylight. Nothing here has been renovated into anonymity.
Rooms
Semi-private rooms share a bathroom with the single room next door and lock from the inside. Everything above them has its own bath. Every rate here is the whole rate.

Questions
Everything. Furniture, electricity, gas, heat, water, air conditioning, trash, sewer and Wi-Fi are all covered by the weekly rate. There is no separate utility bill and no broker fee.
The deposit is four weeks of rent, refundable at the end of your stay less any damage. At booking you pay the deposit plus your first week, and rent is billed every two weeks after that.
Leases run from three months upward. Longer stays are welcome and extensions are straightforward as long as the room is still free.
The two semi-private room types are adjacent bedrooms that share one bathroom. Each bedroom is yours alone and locks; only the bathroom is shared, and only with the one neighbouring room. Every other room type has its own ensuite bath.
Fully. Bed, mattress, linens, wardrobe, desk, nightstand and a smart TV are already in place. Bring your clothes and a laptop.
Yes. Ask for a tour and we will arrange one, in person or over video if you are moving from out of town.
No. The building is non-smoking and pet-free.
Send an enquiry with your move-in date and the room you want. We reply with availability and the next steps. Nothing is charged until you have seen the terms.
